Thanksgiving is over, but, I'm still eating as if it isn't. No, I didn't cook a big dinner, but, I got to take some cookies home! Now, if you know me, I love cookies. I can really relate to Cookie Monster from the Muppets. Grandma Closson made two of my favorite cookies: Snickerdoodles and a Chewy Molasses cookie. I think Mark told her that I haven't made them for a long while. Of course, I've been eating them everyday since Thanksgiving. Nothing like a homemade cookie and a cup of coffee! Randy hasn't touched them...he's not a cookie eater like me. Of course...that means MORE COOKIES FOR ME (ha, ha)! Unfortunately, I'm going to pay for all this gluttony when I get on the scale. I think I'll wait until the first of the year before I get on it...well...maybe. Darn, I have to go to the doctor before then! Guess I'll stop eating cookies...but maybe...just...one...more.............:)

Thanksgiving Day! I can't believe it's here already! I'm not cooking this year and it feels wierd! No turkey in the oven at 0700, no stuffing being prepared, no pies sitting on the counter, no table set with my fance dishes...it feels wierd! I usually have everyone over for the holidays, but in the last few years it has changed. Most of my family lives quite a distance away, and those that live closer have other family that they celebrate with on the holiday. So, last year it was just Randy & I, but I cooked the whole meal just for the two of us. It was nice and we enjoyed it, but different!
This year, Randy and I are going to my ex-husband, Tim's house in South Elgin, IL. Every time I tell someone this, I get a strange look or comment. Yes, it is a bit wierd, but, you know, I'm over all the pain and sorrow from that time, and I've never hated the man, nor his wife. In fact, I still love him (differently) because he is the father of my children, and Mark & Ben are the love of my life along with Randy, of course!
I have so many things to be thankful for...a wonderful husband that treats me like a queen (how would I have him without divorce???). He puts up with all of my idiosyncracies, including my insatiable appetite for anything with crafts. I'm thankful for my children and grandchildren and for the joy that they bring to me. I'm also thankful for the wonderful friends that I've made through the years, and for the new friends that I've made through Stampin' Up! I wouldn't have known you otherwise, and I'm thankful for all of you.
Well, I could go on and on about how I'm thankful, but this blog would be sooooo long! Dr. Tara (my chiropractor)challenged me to write down 25 things I was thankful for last Monday. I did it in 2 minutes and filled the page, so, Wednesday, she challenged me to think about the things that were challenges and list 25 that I'm thankful for...well...I guess you know at least one of them! I'm going to his house for Thanksgiving and will enjoy it immensely! Well it's Thanksgiving morning...no turkey in the oven, but...I hear a "turkey" (Randy) coming down the stairs...better sign off...Have a wonderful Turkey Day!

Hi Everyone! I'm gearing up for our stamp camps this month and I wanted to show you one of the cards that we're going to make. The stamp set I used is from the Holiday Mini Catalog called Patterned Pines. It is a really cute stamp set and can be used in a multitude of ways. I CASE'd this card from one of the galleries that I have access to from Stampin' Up! I don't know who actually did the card, but, wanted to make sure that everyone knew that it isn't my idea originally. I can't wait until you see the rest. One of you asked for a dark navy card with embossed silver and we will be doing one of those. We'll also be doing a special fold card which will be a lot of fun. I can't wait to see what you think of all of the projects. Take care and happy stamping :)

My goodness it's been a busy week for me, and it seems as if my body is finally getting used to the time change. One of the things I can't get used to is the lack of light at this time of the year. I just want to burrow in a cave (my craft room) and stay there until spring like a little ol' Build-A-Bear! At 0500 I try to get up and moving for the day, and by 0600 I'm generally trying to scope out my day. I wish I could just stamp today, but, I'll be at work in meetings all day. Since, I'll be there early, I might be able to go home early and yes, stamp! Saturday is the Craft Expo at the Mall, so, I'm excited to get my cards and other craft items out there. I hope it will be a successful day. I hope to see some friends and make new ones in the process. I guess Santa is coming, too! So, Randy and I will probably want to say "HI" to him. Well I'm off to work--it's going to be a wonderful day!
